The Grove Grizzly Thank you to all of our families who participated in the reading challenges this week on our days off! It was great to hear about many students who surpassed their reading minutes and also so fun to see all of the pictures of our students who were reading as a part of the Twitter Challenge!! I will be following up on the distribution of our Grizzly Claws on Monday!!   5 Essentials Survey We are very close to reaching the minimum number of participants that we need in, however, it would be great to hear from a majority of our families, so we are hoping that many more families will participate! As a result, if you have not yet completed the Parent 5 Essentials Survey, please take a few minutes to do the survey. The survey counts toward our School Report Card and helps us in continued School Improvement Planning!   The online survey is open through February 15th and is accessed by clicking here. PLEASE NOTE: Because Barrington 220 is based in Lake County, choose "Lake" from the county drop down menu, then select our school.   Power of One Assembly This coming Monday, we will be hosting the Power of One Bully Prevention Assembly for our students. There will be two performances. One performances will be for students K-3 and the second will be for students in grades 4-5.   Each morning, our students say the Power of One Pledge, however, we feel that it is important for them to truly understand the meaning behind it. The Power of One is a skit-based presentation that shows different bullying scenarios, bystander behaviors, and solutions to bullying. The message of the performance is that every child has the Power of One, the power to report and deal with bullying when they see it. Each student will be asked to pledge to demonstrate the Power of One at the end of the assembly and sign pledge board that we will display in the school.
