Grove Spirit Week
This year, in lieu of the ABC Countdown that we have done in the past, we have planned a Spirit Week for our last six days together with students! We are looking forward to celebrating the end of the year with a little fun each day during those six days! The spirit days will begin next Tuesday, May 28th and go through our last day of school on Tuesday, June 4th!

Please click on the  link to a spirit week flyer, which outlines the themes we have designated for each of the days! Students are invited to dress up to match the theme each day! Please make sure that your child’s clothing on these days is appropriate for school and that he/she can comfortably participate in all activities that students would normally be expected to complete in a school day!

We are looking forward to a fun and enjoyable end of the year with our students!

Last Day of School
Our last day of school for the year will be Tuesday, June 4th! While we are ending on a Tuesday, we will be following a Wednesday schedule on the last day, which means that we will dismiss at 2:10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4th! Please plan accordingly and make sure your child is aware of the plans for that day!

Reminders:
  • Order Math Summer Study Workbooks in RevTracks ASAP!!
  • Registration for next year is open. You must log-in to register on your IC account, you cannot register on your phone! If you are not returning to Grove next year, please contact the main office.

The Grove Grizzly
Thank you to our PTO and all of our Parent Volunteers for providing a fun-filled day of physical activities for our students for Field Day! The students loved participating in the events and had a blast!! A special “thank you” goes out to our Field Day chairs Tracy Mylin and Shara Linden for planning this special day for our students!!

Bus Passes and Bus Tag Holders
A letter went out to parents from the district earlier this week regarding the bus passes and bus tag holders for next school year. Students will keep the passes and tag holders they have over the summer. Updated bus passes will be provided to students in August at our “Meet the Teacher” event right before school starts. Please note, students must keep the tag/card holder and coil, as they will need it in the fall for the new passes. If the bus tag holders are lost, a replacement fee of $2.00 will be added to a student’s Infinite Campus account.

2019-2020 School Supplies
Grove purchases all of the school supplies for the students each year. To cover the cost of the school supplies for the year, a fee of $45.00 will appear in the parent portal in IC with school dues and fees in July.

The only items that families will need to purchase for individual students include a backpack, gym shoes to keep at school for P.E., and a lunch box (if desired). Please view our school supply memo for more details regarding our school supply process.

Math Summer Study
Classroom teachers shared links this week with parents to order the Math Summer Study Workbooks. Please be sure to use the link provided by the teacher to purchase a math workbook in RevTracks by Friday, May 24th. Math workbooks will be sent home with students before the end of the school year and the rest of the summer study information for each grade level will be shared with families before we leave for summer break as well.

We are in need of more than 100 volunteers to help with our
Second Annual Grove Avenue School Field Day
on Friday, May 17th.

Volunteer HERE!!

Please note that a rain date has been set for Friday, May 24th.  The success of this program depends on our volunteers!  We had a great first year field day, so lets recreate that experience for our kids again this year.

You may volunteer for the entire day, and we hope many of you will.  If you are a room parent in the morning session, you may only run a game or treat station in the afternoon.  All room parent helpers will need to stay with their assigned class for lunch from 11-11:40 am.  Each class will need a wagon.  Please email dankmylin@gmail.com if you have a wagon we can borrow for the day.

We are so grateful for all that you do for all our children! Thank you!! Thank you!!

Best Regards,
Grove Avenue PTO
