The Grove Grizzly
It was so great to see our 5th Graders at the “Clap-Out” last week and so many families at our staff parade!! We loved being able to wave good-bye to our students one last time in person before the summer!!! We wish everyone a healthy, safe, and fun summer.

While we aren’t requiring our typical summer study work for students this year, we do still strongly encourage that our students engage in academic related activities throughout the summer. The number one thing that every student needs to do is READ every day!! We have included several recommendations for families for various activities that students can do over the next few months below. Feel free to contact your child’s teacher or Mrs. Matthews with questions!

Summer School Virtual Offerings Through Barrington 220
The coronavirus pandemic has unfortunately canceled many upcoming plans. In Barrington 220 all summer athletic camps and activities are canceled. However, in an effort to continue providing learning opportunities for our students, summer school courses will be offered virtually for the summer of 2020. We encourage students to take advantage of these opportunities to continue learning over the summer, especially given the unique conclusion to this school year.
All online summer school programs will still be held as scheduled Monday-Thursday over the following dates:

Please note, due to the shift to online summer school, some previously offered courses are no longer available. All students who previously enrolled in courses that are no longer being offered in the virtual format will receive full refunds within 30 days, to the credit card that was used during registration. If you’re interested in a course that is still being offered, you must register for it. You can not use the money from a canceled course as a credit toward registration of a new course.

Spring E-Learning Teacher Tributes
As this very different year comes to an end, we are honoring all our dedicated teachers and staff through the Barrington 220 Educational Foundation's E-learning Teacher Tributes campaign, which will culminate in a district wide virtual scrapbook. If you are able, we hope you will consider supporting this effort to recognize and thank our wonderful educators. If you choose to donate, you will be emailed a link which will take you to a virtual bulletin board. There you will have the opportunity to leave a personal message, photo or video to thank teachers and staff members! Click here to make your donation

Reminders
  • Registration for the 2020-2021 School Year is now open! Details regarding registration can be found on the district registration webpage.
  • New bus passes will be distributed at the start of the 2020-21 school year and should be attached to the student’s backpack the first day of school.  Students should keep their bus tag holder provided by the school district to use next school year.
