Field Day Update
VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED: We are still in need of volunteers for Field Day this Tuesday, May 31st!!! We especially need volunteers for game stations in the morning for our primary students.
13 Volunteers are needed for the K-2 morning game stations.
2 Volunteer opportunities are still available in the afternoon for intermediate game stations.

WAGONS NEEDED: Each class will need a wagon. Please email Tracy Mylin at dankmylin@gmail.com if you have a wagon we can borrow for the day. Wagons can be dropped off outside the front entrance of Grove at the volunteer tent starting at 6:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Please be sure to label wagons with your child’s first and last name so they can be returned!!!
STUDENT DRESS for FIELD DAY: Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather on Tuesday. It is predicted to be hot on Tuesday, so students should be sure to wear lightweight clothing, bring a hat and/or sunglasses, and wear sunscreen. All students need to be wearing gym shoes on Tuesday!!!
LUNCH for FIELD DAY: All students will be participating in a sack lunch on Tuesday. Lunch orders for a sack lunch from school were due today on the Google Form sent out to parents earlier this week. All students will be eating from 11:00-11:40 on Tuesday.
Yearbook Update
Unfortunately, the shipping on our yearbooks from TreeRing has been delayed. We are still hoping to receive the yearbooks before the end of the school year in order to pass them out to students next week, however, we will arrange for yearbook distribution in the summer if we do not receive them in time to pass out to students on Wednesday, June 1st. We will share more details as soon as we have them.
Grove Summer Study
A letter with the details regarding our summer study expectations for students will be going out to parents on Wednesday, June 1st. We will also be sending home specific materials with students for this purpose on Wednesday, June 1st. Please be on the lookout for the materials being sent home with your child on the last day of school!! We will be asking students to complete both reading and math work over the course of the summer in order to keep their skills fresh!!
School Supplies for the 2022-2023 School Year
Once again, the Grove office will be completing all of the ordering for school supplies for students at Grove for next year. In order to purchase your child's supplies for the 2022-2023 school year, we will charge every child $45.00 ($25.00 for half-day kindergarten). We, in turn as a school, will do bulk purchasing through suppliers and warehouse stores. This has been successful because:
2. We will be able to purchase uniform items which contribute to instructional success. For example, when a teacher is working on measurement with the class, it is much easier if everyone has the same ruler instead of eight different kinds.
3. We are able to reuse rather than replace school supply items like scissors, rulers, protractors, crayons, etc. This is a cost-saving plan and cuts down on environmental waste.
Forty-five dollars ($25 for half-day kindergarten) will include the cost of all pencils, paper, pens, calculators, markers, crayons, rulers, scissors, notebooks, folders, Kleenex, paper towels, post-it notes, accordion folders, etc.
Parents will need to provide their child with a backpack, gym shoes, and lunch tote (optional). If your child would like some special school supply items, that would still be an option for you to purchase on your own.
This fee can be found on your 2022/23 school fees in Infinite Campus starting on July 1st!
End of the Year Countdown for Students- GO GROVE
For our last 7 days of school, we have been holding a special countdown with some fun activities or spirit days to celebrate the end of a successful school year! The plan for the last two days of school is as follows:
T - May 31st V –Vacation Day - wear your sunglasses and hat and take a vacation from class by participating in field day
W- June 1st E – End the Year with Grove Gear - Wear your Grove Spirit Wear!!!
Online Registration for 2022-2023 School Year is Now Open!!
Families planning to attend Barrington 220 Schools in August need to register and update student and family demographic information before May 31st. Students can not be officially registered for the 2022-23 school year until Online Registration is completed.
Please note: students can only be registered by their legal guardian (of student(s) primary household). The link to registration is in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account.
Once logged in, refer to the left side of the homepage
Select and click the More option
Once the list expands, select and click the Online Registration option.
Parents are asked to update family and student contact information, and medical information, and answer all required annual parent permission forms when completing Online Registration. Following a review of your registration documents, a confirming email will be sent. Please allow 5-7 working days for the email to arrive.
Please note: If you have a new address or if you need to add a new student since your last registration, you will need to submit proof of address along with your registration application.
It is important for parents to remember to use a Parent Login. Student Logins cannot be used to access Online Registration. Parents in need of assistance logging into the Parent Portal or completing the online registration should contact the Parent Help Desk during normal business hours for assistance. Please return any GROVE library books to school as soon as possible!!!
Registration for the next school year is due by Monday, May 30th!!! Please register ASAP so we can plan accordingly for next year!!
