GROVE SUMMER STUDY
We will once again be sending home summer study materials with our students on the last day of the school year. I will be sending a letter out to parents with details regarding the summer study on Thursday! Please be on the lookout for the materials in your child’s backpack on Thursday!
FIELD DAY REMINDERS
Attire:
All students must wear gym shoes (no sandals or flip flops)
Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes are encouraged
Students are encouraged to wear any "Grove" t-shirt
Sun & Bugs:
Sunscreen and bug spray, if wanted, must be applied BEFORE school
Students may wear hats
Lunch & Water:
Students should bring a water bottle to have during Field Day
Students must bring a sack lunch or order a sack lunch through the school (NO HOT LUNCH WILL BE SERVED)
Kindergarten will have their typical lunch hour. Students 1st-5th will eat lunch in their classroom from 10:55-11:25 (3rd-5th) or 11:00-11:40 (1st & 2nd).
Inclement Weather Plan:
In the event of rain, I will send an all-school email by 6:30 a.m. to inform everyone if Field Day is postponed to Thursday, June 1st
BARRINGTON ONLINE SUMMER SCHOOL (BOSS) - Enrollment OPEN now!
Barrington Online Summer School is a unique learning opportunity for students to prepare for next school year, and extend and enrich their learning via online classes during the summer. Courses are taught by Barrington 220 teachers and staff members. Courses focus on enriched and personalized learning activities integrating many subject areas for all incoming 2nd - 6th grade students. Online summer school DOES NOT replace traditional summer school offerings, rather it is an additional opportunity available to families. There are 2-week and 4-week course options that occur between July 17th and August 10th. Families may participate in both in-person and online summer school, as they do not occur at the same time. Finally, these courses provide students with a small class size environment, and students will be provided with daily personalized feedback.

We are in need of more than 100 volunteers to help with our Annual Grove Avenue School Field Day
on Wednesday, May 31st. Please note that a rain date has been set for Thursday, June 1st. The success of this program depends on our volunteers! There are still a few more volunteer slots open!
You may volunteer for the entire day, and we hope many of you will. If you are a room parent in the morning session, you may only run a game or treat station in the afternoon. All room parent helpers will need to stay with their assigned class for lunch from 11-11:40 am. Each class will need a wagon. Please email Ashley Rapp condon.ashley@gmail.com if you have a wagon we can borrow for the day.

2023-2024 ONLINE REGISTRATION
Online Registration for the 2023-24 school year is open! Families planning to attend Barrington 220 Schools in August will need to register and update student and family demographic information before May 31st. Students can not be officially enrolled in the 2023-24 school year until Online Registration is completed. Please note: students can only be registered by their legal guardian (of student(s) primary household).
The link to registration was sent to parents’ Infinite Campus Parent Portal account on Tuesday, May 2nd after 10:00 AM.
Once logged in, refer to the left side of the homepage.
Select and click the More option.
Once the list expands, select and click the Online Registration option.
Parents are asked to update family and student contact information, medical information, and to submit all required annual parent permission forms when completing Online Registration. Following a review of your registration documents, a confirmation email will be sent. Please allow 5-7 working days for that email to arrive.
Please note: If you have a new address or if you need to add a new student since your last registration, you will need to submit proof of address along with your registration application.

¡La inscripción en línea para el año escolar 2023-24 estará disponible el martes 2 de mayo!
Las familias que planean asistir a las Escuelas de Barrington 220 en agosto deben inscribirse y actualizar la información demográfica del estudiante y la familia antes del 31 de mayo. Los estudiantes no pueden matricularse oficialmente en el año escolar 2023-24 hasta que se complete la inscripción en línea.
