The Grove Grizzly
A Note From The Office

Thank you to our wonderful PTO and all of our families who participated in Teacher Appreciation this week! I know I can speak for our staff and say that we all felt appreciated this week! The staff truly appreciated all of the special treats and especially enjoyed the kind words, notes, and cards this week!

Math Summer Study
All parents should have received an e-mail today with information regarding our plans for our students’ math summer study. This summer we are requiring all students to complete the summer workbook that correlates with our Math in Focus curriculum for their grade level. Parents should purchase the workbook in IC and then workbooks will be sent home with the students. Please refer to the e-mail for more details.

Additional information regarding summer study for other content areas is coming soon!

Mon. May 14th: 7pm, Grove Elementary Gym
Thurs. May 17th: 9:30am, Station Library

Please watch Episode 6 of Learning NOW in Barrington 220, Creativity!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uaZ-XUeisA
This Learning NOW in Barrington 220 episode highlights how students use One to World devices for Creativity. Students Ethan Elias (Rose Elementary School), Isha Soorya (Barrington Middle School - Station), and Annika Steib (Barrington High School) talk about some of the ways they are able to bring creativity into the learning process using iPad and MacBook Air laptops. Students discuss creating movie projects, print designs, digital books, video games, laser engravings, and other examples of creative projects and activities.

In another example of technology-enabled creativity, Barrington High School student Tyler Chappell shares how he and his video team created projected video sets for a recent production of the musical “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”

At the end of the episode, please take the Parent/Community survey!
