A Note From Mrs. Matthews:

Parent/Teacher Conferences
Our fall Parent/Teacher Conferences are quickly approaching this coming month! We will be holding our conferences on Wednesday, October 17th from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday, October 18th from 12-7 p.m. Please be sure to plan accordingly in order to be able to attend conferences during the conference days that have been designated by the district for teachers to meet with parents. This is valuable time to discuss the individual growth and skills of your child, as well as, work together with the teacher to plan and set goals toward your child’s individual progress.

Parents will be receiving a link via e-mail this coming Monday to log on to our electronic sign-up platform called “Meet the Teacher” in order to choose a specific day and time to attend conferences. When parents log on, they will be able to sign-up for conferences for multiple children and for any staff member that works with their child including our art, gym, and library teachers. In addition, all related services staff members will meet with parents separately from the conferences with classroom teachers. As a result, parents can also schedule conference times with our Social Worker, Speech and Language Pathologist, Reading Resource Teachers, English Learner Teacher, Special Education Resource Teachers, and our Extended Teacher.

Calling All Room Parents!

All room parents have been contacted for the 2018-2019 school year — thank you for volunteering to be a room parent in your child’s classroom. We will be having an all-grade level room parent meeting on Monday, October 1st from 9:15-10:15 a.m. in the multipurpose room at Grove. During this meeting, you will be getting a folder explaining your role as a room parent. If you can not attend this meeting, please reach out to Priscilla at priscillaj.morrison@gmail.com, and we can get you the materials you need.

Fall Box Top Competition at Grove!

We wanted to send a quick reminder that the collection of Box Tops officially kicks off next Monday, October 1st and will run until October 15th. Your child should have brought home a plastic Ziploc bag to collect their box tops. Please check the expiration dates before handing in your Box Tops because many expire on 11/1/18 and will not be valid for the Spring Collection Contest. Also, please remember to label your child’s collection bag with his or her name and teacher’s name so we can have an accurate count for the three highest collectors at Grove.

Contact Leena Varghese at Leenavarghese326@gmail.com with any questions.
