The Grove Grizzly A Note From Mrs. Matthews:   Food Service Survey This month Barrington 220 is gathering feedback from staff, parents, middle school students and high school students about the food services at all of our schools. To do this, the district is using a survey tool called Thoughtexchange. You can confidentially share your thoughts in the survey and rate other participants’ thoughts between now and Oct. 17. Please click the link to participate: Elementary Food Survey   Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences The sign-up for our fall Parent/Teacher Conference will be open to parents this Monday, October 8th at 6:00 a.m. Please click on the link below for directions to our sign-up platform “Meet the Teacher” in order to sign-up.   Grove “Meet the Teacher” Parent Guide in English Grove “Meet the Teacher” Parent Guide in Spanish   When parents log on, they will be able to sign-up for conferences for multiple children and for any staff member that works with their child including our art, gym, and library teachers. Conferences with specials teachers are not required, but are an option we are offering to parents. In addition, all related services staff members will meet with parents separately from the conferences with classroom teachers. As a result, parents can also schedule conference times with our Social Worker, Speech and Language Pathologist, Reading Resource Teachers, English Learner Teacher, Special Education Resource Teachers, and the Extended Teacher. It is highly recommended that parents meet with any related service staff member that works with their child.   Conferences are being held on Wednesday, October 17th from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday, October 18th from 12-7 p.m. Please be sure to plan accordingly in order to be able to attend conferences during the conference days that have been designated by the district for teachers to meet with parents. If you sign up to donate nonperishable items, you may drop the items off beforehand in the school office. Please label the item with your name and parent-teacher conference.  Save the Date for The Grizzly Ski Lodge Parent Party!  It’s time to Save the Date for Grove’s Parent Party! The Grizzly Ski Lodge themed silent auction and dinner is on Friday, February 8, 2019.  Please keep an eye out for packets that came home in your child’s backpack this week.
