Barrington Giving Days
Barrington Giving Day is a Non-Profit organization that invites families on the Free and Reduced lunch program in the 220 School District to a Giving Day event where they receive food, warm coats, hats/gloves, blankets, books, toys and other much needed items. Over 900 families in our community are in need of help. There are collection boxes in the main hallway of Grove where items such as new or gently used and clean winter clothing, new or like new toys, books, new blankets, and unopened diapers or pull-ups may be dropped off from until December 10th. Books are still being collected in the library at Grove!

Lost and Found
Our Lost and Found is starting to look very full! Please remind your child to check it for any missing items. Often times, students take their layers off in P.E. class and do not claim them at the end of the period. As a result, they end up in the lost and found. Parents are also welcome to come in and check the lost and found for items as well. All items left in the lost and found when we break for Thanksgiving will be donated over the break!! Please be sure to check for missing items before then!!

Cold Weather Procedures
Now that the cold weather and snow is officially upon us, I would like to make sure that parents are aware of our cold weather procedures. During the winter months, our students will go outside for recess as much as possible. If the temperature or wind chill is zero degrees or below the students will remain inside for recess. When the wind chill is above zero students will be outside. As a result, please be sure to send your children to school fully dressed to be outside for recess. It is also recommended that students bring layers such as sweatshirts and sweaters to take on and off as well. In order for students to play in the snow at school, they must have a winter coat, snow pants, boots, gloves, and a hat or earmuffs, as we want them to stay dry and be able to return to the classroom in the afternoon and concentrate on learning. We will try to have extra items for students at school in the case that they forget, but it is beneficial for students to bring all of these items each day during the winter so they are prepared no matter what. In addition, students should have a pair of gym shoes to wear during the school day while in class as well as to participate safely in P.E. It is also strongly recommended that your child’s name is marked on their items in order to be returned to them should they leave them somewhere!!

Enter to win "Lunch With A Teacher!" Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit Grove students and staff. Winners will be announced at a TBD date. Thank you for supporting your school and PTO!

Are you looking for a place to donate your kid’s used books?
Are they still in good condition?

Each year, Station Middle School hosts Barrington Giving days. This year the library is looking for gently used or like-new copies of popular titles for Kindergarten to 5th grade for students in need, to choose from!

If you have books that you no longer want, you may drop them off at the Grove library between November 4-20, 2019. Mrs. Banach will have boxes for donations. All books collected will
be sent to Station for Barrington Giving Days.
