5 Essentials Survey
Please click on the links below to a letter regarding an important survey for the parents of Grove Avenue School. The results of this survey will be included as a portion of our official School Report Card and school ranking next fall. As a result, your participation and input is important, as we need at least 20% of our parent population to participate. Students in grades four and five, as well as, the Grove Avenue Staff will be participating in the survey.

The survey will be open until February 14th, but please take a few minutes to complete the survey as soon as possible.

Due to the fact that our district office is located in Lake County, parents will need to choose Lake County at the login page in order to then access the Grove link. Please feel free to contact Mrs. Matthews directly with any questions regarding the survey.

Author Visit
We are delighted to welcome New York Times bestselling author Liesl Shurtliff on Friday, January 31st. Ms. Shurtliff will discuss her books and talk with students about her career as an author! To order a personalized copy of any books, please download this form and return it by Friday, January 17th. More details below!

Cold and Flu Season
Although it has not consistently felt like winter this year, we are in the middle of our cold and flu season and there are multiple strands of flu going around this year. In order to minimize the spread of these illnesses, we all have to do our part in helping to keep our community healthy. Included is a link to guidelines from our district health offices as to when to keep students home, as well as, guidelines as to when students can return to school following illness. Please refer to these guidelines should your child experience illness, most importantly, the guidelines as to when students should return. We of course want students in school as much as possible and are not advocating for students to stay home with minor coughs or sneezes, but we do want to make sure that we are not exposing others to students who are contagious as well. Thank you for your cooperation and support in taking care of our entire school community!!

Reminder for Walkers and Car Riders!!
This is a friendly reminder that the school day begins at 8:00 a.m., which means that all students should be in their classrooms by this time. As a result, students should be arriving to school between 7:40 a.m. and 7:55 a.m. Students who arrive at 8:00 a.m. are late for the beginning of the day and missing out on important morning routines and announcements, as well as, the beginning of instruction and specials.
