Family Reading Program

We had such a fun day at Grove on Thursday kicking off our Annual Family Reading Program!! Hopefully you heard from your child all about the skit, chef’s hat, and special treat!  Detailed information about the program was emailed to parents on Thursday.

Students were also provided with a copy of the book Midsummer’s Mayhem (one copy per family, sent home with the youngest sibling in a family) with the intention of every family reading the book together! Our One Book, One Grove initiative will not only connect families, but our entire Grove community throughout the course of the next five weeks. Students will be able to discuss the book with parents, neighbors, classmates, and any other Grove students! We are encouraging families to read the book in the best way that works for their family. This may include parents reading to children, siblings taking turns reading aloud to the family, or a child reading to their parents! Once again, we have obtained the blessing of the author for Grove staff members to record themselves reading the chapters for students to listen to throughout the course of the program. Please access the link provided in the Grizzly email blast to access the weekly recordings and listen to the chapters! These recordings are meant for Grove students and families only and will be accessible through March 18th.

The first weekly reading log will be due on Thursday, February 10th and students will receive their Family Reading Program t-shirts on Friday, February 11th for meeting the all classroom goal. We can’t wait to see all the students and staff in their shirts next week!

We are still looking for volunteers for our Tasty Tuesday events. Check out the Sign-Up Genius if you would like to help! We also hope that families will join us for our Family Food Fair on Tuesday, March 1st! Please register for the event on the Google Form by next Friday, February 11th!!

Happy Reading!!!

5 Essentials Survey

Please click on the links below to a letter regarding an important survey for the parents of Grove Avenue School. The results of this survey will be included as a portion of our official School Report Card and school ranking next fall. As a result, your participation and input is important, as we need at least 20% of our parent population to participate. Students in grades four and five, as well as, the Grove Avenue Staff will be participating in the survey.

The survey will be open until the beginning of April, but please take a few minutes to complete the survey as soon as possible. It takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
